NAZZARENO LUMINA TO START THE EUROPEAN BAGGER AT JEREZ

The Bagger class is the category of the moment, capturing the curiosity of motorcycle fans from both the custom and racing worlds. It’s an American-style class featuring large-displacement custom bikes adapted for the track, which this year is also racing in Europe, with brands on the grid beyond the traditional “Made in USA.”

Thus, Nazzareno Lumina, a Ducati standard-bearer in Italy, has secured a seat as Ruben Xaus’s teammate. In addition to their passion for racing, they share the same on-track attitude—and the same race number, 111. The former MotoGP and WSBK rider and the Italian met at the opening round in Cremona in May and agreed to reunite for the season finale. Now they will be teammates with the goal of fighting for the podium.

It will be a completely different race from what Nazzareno is used to. These are bikes equipped with bags—born for the long, straight U.S. highways—that in recent years have amazed with spectacular on-track action and a relaxed, festive atmosphere around fans and riders. In Jerez, the season finale of the European championship, the race weekend will feature a bike meet in the paddock where hundreds of motorcycles are expected, followed by a parade lap on the circuit. Right after, there’s a party for everyone, as the meet and the championship protagonists head into downtown Jerez to keep the show going.

This is a championship designed to interact with the public—an opportunity that Nazzareno sees as prestigious for his career. The races will be streamed live and later shared by the championship with English-language commentary.

“My season in the Dunlop Cup 600 has just ended with an excellent third place overall. It’s been an exciting season in which I managed to be a leading contender. But I’m not stopping. This last race of 2025 is an exploration of a new world that, from next season, will also run alongside MotoGP. I’ll take part in the flagship event of this season, within the paddock of the Spanish SBK championship—an experience that will let me assess new racing scenarios while giving me great visibility. I can’t wait to get back on track on the Baggers!”

See you in Jerez de la Frontera from 7 to 9 November.
